Situated 1360ft above sea
level on the picturesque Horseshoe Pass near Llangollen, Berwyn Slate Quarry
or (Clogau Quarry) was originally established around 1700 and is one of the
oldest slate quarries in the industry.
It was worked continuously
up until around 1940's then intermittently until the late eighties until the
Bickford family from Swansea bought it in 1991.
Since then there has been
vast investments in updating machinery to the latest standards.
As agents for the other larger
Welsh Slate producers we not only offer our own slate products but actively
stock and sell all the other slate types from around North Wales.
We have recently opened a new
depot on the Gower peninsular near Swansea, where we stock all of our Welsh
Slate products, we are also now actively building our product range up to be
able to supply different kind of slate and stone, not only from Wales but
from around the world.
